Built back in 1690, they create a special environment throughout the year: they’re heated, air-conditioned, and linked together so the day flows seamlessly from room to room. Outside the charming courtyard and gardens provide delightful entertaining spaces. The colourful flowers, stunning views, and the chance to hold your ceremony under our wedding arch, make summer weddings something special.

But if the temperatures outside aren’t so pleasant, the welcoming atmosphere inside our barns can warm even the coldest winter. Our rooms are all fully heated and air-conditioned to create the perfect environment all year round.

Whether you’re planning a grand wedding or a small and cosy one, our barns can be styled to fit. The space is flexible, with three adjoining rooms available – a dining room, a bar area, and a ceremony room that turns into a dance-floor.

We can style these rooms to emphasise your chosen wedding theme. Our barns can be elegant, formal, fabulous or fun. We’ll also work with you to make the most of your budget. Our team are flexible and can help you craft the perfect occasion for a very reasonable price.

Your big day will seem infinitely more manageable at Winters Barns. Our air-conditioned bridal salon is the perfect place to get ready. And although Canterbury’s large selection of hotels is nearby, you can make your day extra special by staying onsite in our romantic lodge.

The way you’d like to shape your wedding is complete up to you – of course. But we’ll be there every step of the way to listen, lighten the load, and ultimately make your dream wedding a reality.

One Look And You’ll Be Beaming

The defining feature of our marvellous barns is their vaulted, beamed ceilings. Dating back to 1690, these original wooden features create a warm and romantic atmosphere reminiscent of folk and fairy-tales. The space is also flexible and can be decorated to fit your wedding theme.

Because our barns are linked together, the venue has a spacious and open-plan feel. Guests can move between the dining hall, bar area and ceremony room easily without venturing outside. Or they can stay at their table throughout and still feel part of the wedding. All the amenities are on the ground floor so nobody has to move far.

Extra Special Facilities

We also have extra facilities within our grounds to make your wedding extra special. Before the ceremony, the bride and bridesmaids can get ready in our large, modern, air-conditioned bridal salon. There are hair and makeup stations to perfect those all-important cosmetic touches, plus a convenient shower and kitchen.

After the ceremony the happy couple can stay in our beautiful bridal cottage – a comfortable and romantic haven where you can unwind and reflect on your special day.
