Like all good talks, this one started with me swearing (a lot). Discover how I transformed the swearing at not being able to do something in two clicks, into the practice of navigation design. In this talk, I’ll take you through the principles I’ve created to help define robust taxonomies (site maps) and the visual navigation experience.
This session is part 1 of 2, in the second I’ll be teaching you the basics of how to create a simple taxonomy.

About Emma Chittenden
Hi, I’m Emma. I’ve spent the last 20 years working in information architecture and taxonomy design. I specialise in unf*cking large digital messes to help businesses make more money, or save a boat load of it. The clients I’ve worked with include, The London Eye, The Open University, Pearson Education and NHS Digital. I specialise in how people navigate through digital ecosystems and the paradox of choice. When I’m not doing that I’m usually found reading a book, walking the dog or sewing something.
