Following on from my talk, Introduction to Navigation Design, this session will teach you the basics of how to create a taxonomy. I’ll be teaching you how to use (and abuse) card sorting, the role context plays when structuring and labelling information, and what to do when stakeholders change a brief on you last minute.

About Emma Chittenden
Hi, I’m Emma. I’ve spent the last 20 years working in information architecture and taxonomy design. I specialise in unf*cking large digital messes to help businesses make more money, or save a boat load of it. The clients I’ve worked with include, The London Eye, The Open University, Pearson Education and NHS Digital. I specialise in how people navigate through digital ecosystems and the paradox of choice. When I’m not doing that I’m usually found reading a book, walking the dog or sewing something.
