I used to be a lawyer and technically, I'm a 'non-practising' solicitor. I now write copy and content for people who work in professional services, and it's the sort of content that positions you as the go-to person in your area of work. I specialise in long-form copy. That's engaging, thought-provoking, informative content like articles, blogs, e-books, training materials and websites. With regular, insightful content you can: ✅️ attract the case load and clients that really interest you (no more boring matters) ✅️ build and retain a steady flow of regular clients, who know who you are and what you do before you've even met ✅️ show a bit of personality so that you end up working with like-minded, generally likeable people So how do I help you do that? I write value-packed, personable content. It's well researched, logical and written with a little dash of flair. Articles on smart ideas don't need to bore the socks off your readers! Here are some examples of the content I write for people in professional services: ✍️ regular articles for industry publications (like Lexology) ✍️ case law updates on the latest decisions in the courts ✍️ updates on topical and political issues such as the budget, and new policy ✍️ legal guides for your website ✍️ training materials for clients and junior team members ✍️ copy for your website If you're wondering how some people manage to get their name *everywhere* and build their reputation, the secret is that they employ someone like me. I work away in the background so that you can publish valuable content and take all the credit. And I really love what I do. (Almost as much as I love cats)

About Hiya, I'm Emily. A copywriter and content strategist with over 10 years' experience in-house and agency-side. ✎ I've written about A LOT of weird and wonderful topics: from lippies and mascaras to chatting all things meat and abattoirs (yup...) 🤓 I'm a bit of an SEO nerd. You'll find me constantly swotting up in an attempt to keep ahead of all things content. 🤖 I specialise in digital content, but I've also got a tonne of experience in print (think menus, magazines & brochures). 💖 Branding & TOV is my bag. I love nothing more than getting under the skin of a brand's voice.

Choosing just the right external consultant isn’t easy. On paper – or rather, on the web – freelance professionals might all seem alike. Maybe deep down you’re even thinking, “One’s as good as any other.” I’m different though. If there’s something I’m particularly proud of, it’s having sat on opposite sides of the desk. As a copywriter I write marketing and advertising copy, but as a transcreation specialist I adapt it from English and German to Italian. As a translator I translate press releases, but when I used to be a freelance publicist, I would write them. And as an interpreter I translate live for journalists at press conferences, but I first attended those kinds of press conference as a journalist. Confused yet? Watch this 90 second video and you’ll get why I call myself an Italian communications all-rounder. What I can do for you when it comes to marketing and advertising • Origination: I can create marketing and advertising copy in Italian, my mother tongue. • Transcreation: I can adapt your advertising and marketing copy from English or German into Italian so that it will not read like a translation – you want to have an impact on the Italian market! I am Italian, I live in Italy, I know how Italians think and what works for them. • Cultural consultation: I can analyse the elements in your advertising and marketing strategy (e.g. brand name, product name, creative idea) and advise on potential cultural challenges. Not sure what transcreation is and why you need it? Check out my presentation at the University of Westminster: Why should you hire me? • Versatility: I cater to all your needs, shifting easily and smoothly between different types of copy and industries. • Promptness: You can get in touch by phone or email around the clock. • Track record: My work for global brands regularly appears on television, magazines and advertising spaces in the form of TV commercials, print ads and billboards.

I'm a freelance copywriter and marketer in North East England (near Newcastle upon Tyne). I've been writing professionally for 20 years and can turn a mish-mash of information into copy that’s clear and persuasive. Over the years I’ve written on behalf of economists, historians and professors. I’ve made complex data understandable and I’ve told stories that entice and intrigue. I have won awards from the Chartered Institute of PR, the Worshipful Company of Marketors, the Northern Marketing Awards and the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Most of my current work is for clients in the public sector and for arts and cultural venues. I can help you with: • Blog posts • Ghost writing • Annual reports • Press releases • Leaflets and brochures • Social media content • Case studies • Newsletters Outside of the office, I’m – very, very slowly – learning to speak Spanish and Japanese.

Writing for you - right for your customers. I write B2C product content, informational content, website copy, and blogs. Also a huge nature nerd. Passionate about mental health advocacy. I'm very experienced at writing product content - highlighting product benefits to customers for thousands of products since 2012 for major retailers such as Argos, Homebase & Wickes. Since going freelance in 2020, I've written customer-focused content for Wickes, eg product content, website marketing copy, and specifically 'How To' guides. These are very popular in the DIY sector, as they help and advise customers on how to complete a huge range of home DIY tasks. I've also been proud and pleased to help start-ups with their new websites. Working in tandem with my wife - who is an experienced UX designer - we've created websites for a marketing company, a financial consultant, and two mental health support providers. I've been really happy to work on these challenging and rewarding projects, as they're such a departure from retail. Since June 2021 I've written weekly emails for Thrive, a mental health training provider. These have mostly been informational & nurturing, but will focus more on conversion in 2023. I'm really keen to expand my portfolio further into areas of personal interest, which basically revolve around mental health, nature and the environment, and ethical retail.

I've been writing for a long time. But I've been thinking about writing for even longer. From my first days in English class at secondary school, I've known that writing was my bag. Whether it was for a career or simply to indulge in the whims of the often overzealous brain I've been blessed/cursed with, it was the only option for me. I've worked with some super cool brands, mainly specialising in web copy and brand strategy.

I’m a creative and conscientious copywriter who understands the power of words. I work with businesses and organisations that are seeking to do the right thing by people and planet, drawing on my extensive experience of sustainability, campaigning and engagement. I can help you to develop a strategy, find an authentic tone of voice and build the creative, compelling and clear communications that deliver the impact you’re looking for. I bring over 25 years’ communications experience from the public, charity and business sectors; mostly from The Co-op, where I was part of the pioneering ethics and sustainability teams for many years. I have a politics degree from Manchester University and a master’s degree in public relations. Outside of work, I’m mum to two teenage boys, dogmother to what could be the world’s largest cockapoo, and I live with my husband, Simon, near Ramsbottom, Greater Manchester. I love music, good food and the great outdoors. I’m a skilled listener, who takes a great interest in the world and its people. I’ll get to know you, your market and your audience to ensure that your communications are tailored, targeted and authentic. Whether you want to increase sales, raise awareness or arouse interest; educate, entertain or engage, together, we’ll find the approach and words that work for you and your people. Come and say halo.
