Has the digital marketing world got you feeling overwhelmed and lost in the maze? Take a big old breath, you can pause those butterflies now. This is where we get your marketing to feel smoother than that glass of Malbec at the end of an eight-day week. I’m Pip Christie, creator of purposeful words and websites for intentional small business owners just like you. I’m also a proud Londoner, a former digital nomad and a mild (*understatement*) coffee fan. But we’ll get to all that later. You’ve worked so hard to translate those ideas into products and services for those dreamy clients of yours. You tweaked and tweaked, and tweaked again. Until finally, you felt ready to send your small business out into the world, feeling more nervous than the day you dropped your four-year-old off for their first day at school. And… then you hit a hurdle. You realised you had to market the darn thing. Cue another 184 hours sat staring at a blank screen, just waiting for some words (any words), to appear on the page. Only to feel that the end result just didn’t do your business justice. The business that you’d worked so hard to build. *Oof* What if you had words to market your work that sounded like you, on a really good day? This is where I enter – notebook tucked under my arm, 90s pop playing on the stereo and a magic wand to free up your entire day… or, you know, we could just grab a coffee and hop on a video call. Either or. Let’s create a meaningful digital home for your business. With a front door that just beckons people inside, and cosy rooms where you can sit down with a virtual cuppa and really get to know your customers. I've worked as a Content Marketing Manager in London's fast-paced tech startup scene, I've led on digital communications at a national charity, and now I'm helping small business owners like you build *real* connections with their dream customers and clients.

Free range copywriter: I love writing travel and tourism pieces, and editorial features about lovely products – but having said that - I’ve also written care labels for goalkeeping gloves and a ‘how to’ guide to damp proofing your basement, so let’s not rule anything out. I’ve been a PR and Copywriter since I fell into a job at a busy marketing agency that advertised for a journalist. I was neither a copywriter or a journalist, but it turned out I was pretty good! I soon became the PR and Copywriting Manager and worked there for about nine years, becoming self-employed when my son was born in 2017. Before I worked at the marketing agency, I was an advertorial feature writer for a luxury lifestyle magazine. And before that (after doing my combined English Degree at Lancaster Uni) I was a temp. But that’s a story for another time.

Many years ago… I left university with a science degree and a desire never to have to drip things into test tubes again! I entered the world of communications agencies, developed my creativity and learned to use words to tell stories and promote my clients' products. I really loved the writing and a desire to use this skill to explore new topics and concepts prompted my move to freelance copywriting. Working mainly in healthcare, science and technology, I have developed a knack for taking complex information and making it relatable to the person on the street, the research professor and everyone in between. There’s not much I won’t tackle and I have written and edited sales materials, case studies, patient information, web pages, social media posts, newsletters, magazines, white papers, meeting reports, award entries and media materials. I have even dabbled in poetry but I am not sure that was as successful! I have a natural curiosity, grasp concepts quickly and find it easy to get to grips with new subject matter both inside and outside my usual field. Being from a comms background I also have a good grounding in message development, a skill I find invaluable in helping clients who have something to say but aren’t sure how to say it.

I often describe myself as a thinker & wordist; which is really just a daft way of saying that I look at the bigger picture and my love of branding & marketing stems from a love of words. Scribbled Brands exists because I keep seeing start-ups and small businesses skipping/avoiding/not-caring-about the foundation of their brand. I've been marketing for 5 years, agency-side and in-house. During those years my experience stretches: 💡Thinking (about branding, product & strategy) Coming up with an informed opinion on how to win. 👨‍💻 👩‍💻 🎧 📖 📺 Content A fluffy word, it can mean many things. To me, content = blog posts, articles, videos, podcasts, social media posts and beyond. 🚀 Marketing Helping us better communicate what we do to the right audiences, at the right time, in the right place; the result = inbound growth. I've helped a multitude of businesses across a variety of sectors: ~ Construct appetising ad copy ~ Join the dots in their marketing strategy ~ Build a bank of better marketing messaging ~ Concoct copywriting for creative campaigns ~ Experiment with some A/B, multivariate or redirect testing ~ Paint a clearer picture of their website visitors and clients ~ Create and calenderise some scrumptious social media copy ~ Write scintillating service pages, scripts, lucrative landing pages & banging blog posts I've headed up an incredible team of contenteers (writers) and developed and trained them while working on product. Audiences have been subject to my voice at TEDx, the Department for International Trade, Experimentation Elite, Local & London-based universities, and others on top. I like to absorb knowledge and then dispense it. I'm also a 🧗‍♂️crap climber, 🏕️ wannabe adventurer, 🎮 part-time gamer,🏋️ fitness try-hard; share a birthday with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson; hold a certificate for “Champion Welly Wanger”; love a good dystopian novel and am 1-inch shorter (in height) than the national average for males in the UK. There... that's everything I think.

Hi, I’m Amy: a decade-long copywriting pro, and the writer behind Expressions Copy & Content. Through focused, results-driven copywriting, I'll help you win leads, boost website traffic, and connect with the right audience. I happily fell into the world of working with words after studying English Literature and Journalism at university. Throughout my career, I've sharpened my skills writing for a variety of brands, including travel companies and non-profits. Over time, I’ve written travel supplements featured in the national press, tour operator brochures, website product descriptions, landing pages, radio and TV scripts, and more blogs than I can count. I started Expressions Copy & Content because I want to help brands express themselves in the best way: the way that will convert leads into sales, while preserving personality and authenticity. I’m a specialist travel, leisure and hospitality copywriter, but I also enjoy copywriting and blogging for businesses in various other industries, including e-commerce and property. I’ll help you: • Boost your website’s SEO with optimised copy and content • Strengthen your brand with a defined tone of voice • Speak to the right audience with the right words: whether you’re looking to sell, educate or inspire So, if you think we’d be a good fit, I’d love to hear from you. My style is informal and witty. Some may say irreverent. But at least it's never 'corporatey', jargon-filled or vanilla-flavoured. I could be described as a marketing all-rounder. I've worked in the industry for over twenty years, with stints in various ad agencies, as a media buyer on client side, as a press officer and even a print buyer. In the last ten years I've settled for my first love: writing. First in-house and now as a freelancer. I work with a range of clients, from creative design agencies, SEO consultants and web developers, to multinationals and SMEs. But I especially like working for clients who give me free stuff. I live in London, like to run and have a season ticket at Arsenal. I also have an odd sense of humour. (Those last two statements may be related.)
