I use words to give brands and creative businesses personality, clarity, and impact.

I’ve worked on brand storytelling, tone of voice and verbal strategy with world-class agencies such as Wolff Olins, Taxi Studio, Manifest, Turner Duckworth, and Vault49.

I also work directly with brands. This includes a long-running relationship with Virgin, which began with Virgin By Design – a coffee-table book charting the fascinating evolution of the brand from 1970–2020.

After 15 years as a design journalist, I know how to find and tell a brand’s unique story.

While editor of Computer Arts, I launched the Brand Impact Awards – an annual scheme to celebrate the world’s best branding. Since 2013, I have helped grow the BIAs into a key event in the design industry calendar.

After over a decade as chair of judges, I have a unique view of how agencies and brands can stand out in a fast-changing world. Every year, the intense panel debates deepen my knowledge of what it takes to craft a world-class brand.

There’s no one-size-fits-all solution for getting copywriting help. Because there are many ways to run a successful design agency.

So I’m as versatile as you need me to be.

We can discuss a full-service package if you’re a small studio with no in-house copywriting. For larger agencies, I collaborate with strategists and designers. I also work with in-house writing teams to assist wherever needed.
